What He Does Part II

Wow! Fancy Title! :-) And what a job! It actually sounds kinda cool, if that's the sort of thing that interests you. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to be so far away from the love of your life for so long. Is it an indefinite thing? As far as length of time? How often do you see one another? What is one thing that you do to keep one another close, even though you're physically so far apart?

Is it an indefinite thing?

His contract with this company is up in September and odds are he will be signing a new one. Though he has said that he will be taking a month or so off before he will start his new contract.

How far as length of time?

He's under a 18 month contract with this company, which started a year ago last February.

How often do you see one another?

When he first started this job he came home every 3 weeks and stayed for the entire week. Now that he not traveling to Europe & all points in between, he comes home several times a month. He only stays for a few days( Thursday night & leaves Sunday) but we make the most of it.

What is one thing that you do to keep one another close, even though you're physically so far apart?

It's not just one thing, it's a combination of many things.

Lots of e-mails, cell phone calls, texting, web chatting & sending each other fun silly pictures and care packages.

We also have a rule that when he's home he's home..... no work unless it has to be done and he can only work during normal business hours. We have lots of date lunches/dinners when he's home and we also plan at least one trip where just the two of us can spend time together without the kids under foot.

These are great questions and so much better then the " are you nuts" question that all my friends and family ask.
