Been Awhile- Again

It's been awhile since I've updated my blog- I know MY BAD.

I've been busy with house stuff, plus Barry was home for 9 days this month. When he's home I try to limit my computer time to checking emails and even that is done via my iPhone.

Around the house I've been getting ready for new living room furniture. When we moved into this house 5 years ago I wanted new furniture so bad but said I would wait until Oldest Son M & Daughter K graduated. We bought the furniture we have now when they were still in Grade school. Well the time has come and I've been busy shopping for the perfect furniture, that won't break the bank. I've found it, but now I have to wait and see if our stupid frost law starts- frost law = no large truck deliveries.

I've also been busy re-doing the dinning room. Being a family of 7 we need a large table, the one we have now was bought in our old house it worked perfect there but here...... not so much. It's the wrong shape ( oval) and it just to big for the room. I would really love a new table, but there really isn't anything wrong with it. Plus I would rather spend the money on other things like a new light fixture above the table ( can you say 1980's FUGLY? ) and a new kitchen sink/faucet.

Since there is only 6 of us here now ( and that's even rare these days with 2 kids having jobs) I shrunk the table down to seat 6 and moved the living room area rug under it. Just doing that changed the look and feel to the room. I also bought two cabinets for the corners, they are suppose to be used in a bathroom to hold towels, but they work perfect for what I wanted.

I've wanted to set up a little bar area and the two cabinets work out perfectly. They hold 8 of each style of glasses, ice bucket, shot glasses, cocktail shakers, and other items needed to mix drinks. Getting all of that out of my kitchen ( plus boxing up the other extra bar glasses) freed up so much space, I no longer have stuff stacked on top of everything.
